WLC 300 was a dynamic class that was taught by both faculty from the Japanese major department as well as faculty from the Spanish major department. I believe the class was intriguing because as a Spanish major I had the opportunity to participate in group discussions and activities with the Japanese major students, which I feel is beneficial to both of us. The activities that I enjoyed and found most useful were the google hangouts with the two CSUMB alumni’s because it gave a sense of success story coming from people just like us and who went through similar experiences that we are going through at CSUMB. I also felt that the trip to Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey was helpful in providing information on graduate programs and opportunities. Even though its possible many students are not actually considering MISS at least it gets them thinking on the idea of a graduate degree. The most significant assignment for this class was the creation of this e-portfolio. This class guided us and provided the required information on this e-portfolio, which is an essential requirement in obtaining our B.A. in Spanish.
